There are three NHL games on the slate tonight, so instead of taking a look at NHL betting lines, maybe take a look at some player props.
Here are two to consider when it comes to NHL betting.
Chris Kreider Over 2.5 Shots (-150)
Chris Kreider is having a season and his 71 points are 18 above his career-best. He scored his 50th goal of the season on Tuesday, putting him third overall, as he leads the Rangers in shots per game with 3.15.
Kreider will be attacking a Philadelphia team that allows the fourth-most shots per game in the NHL with 34. In three games against the Flyers this season, Kreider only averaged 1.67 shots per game. However, in his most recent outing against the Metropolitan Divison rivals, he recorded three shots. Over his last 10 games overall, Kreider has averaged 3.1 shots.
Kreider and the Rangers are still vying for playoff seeding, so they should be on the attack for much of this game.
Cale Makar Over 0.5 Powerplay Points (+140)
Cale Makar is second among all defensemen with 77 points and 1.13 points per game. He’s also third overall among defensemen with 30 powerplay points and tied for first in powerplay time per game with 3:52.
The Calgary native spends a lot of time on the powerplay and he scores a lot in general. He’s one of five Avalanche players scoring over a point a game and is second on the team in powerplay points. In two games against the Kings this season, Makar has two points, both coming from the powerplay.
Makar is in an excellent position to pick up a point on the powerplay against LA tonight.
