There are 11 games on the NHL slate Thursday and instead of looking at NHL betting lines, player prop options are good to consider.

Sam Bennett Over 2.5 Shots (-165)
If the oddsmakers keep giving odds on Sam Bennett at 2.5 shots a game, I will keep taking them.
While he’s seventh in scoring on the high-powered Panthers offense with 27 goals and 46 points, Bennett leads Florida in shots per game with 3.41, 0.91 more than needed for this bet to payout.
Meanwhile, the Red Wings allow the fourth-most shots per game in the NHL with 34.
In three games against Detroit this season, Bennett had one goal and one assist. Over his past five games, he’s averaged 3.6 shots per game, including three against the Red Wings on April 17.
Bennett should get his offense in against Detroit, as should most of Florida’s squad.
Dougie Hamilton Over 2.5 Shots (-165)
It might appear a little weird to choose a defenseman for an offensive bet, but not when it is one of the best offensive defensemen in the NHL.
This season, Dougie Hamilton has struggled to put up points but averages 3.21 shots per game, second on the Devils only to Jack Hughes.
Hamilton quarterbacks New Jersey’s first power-play unit and it would stand to reason that he picks up a lot of shots from the point on the power play.
In two games against Buffalo this season, Hamilton has scored one goal and one assist. He also had four shots on the net in each of those games. The Sabres allow the sixth most shots on net in the NHL with 33.3.
The prospect of Hamilton surpassing 2.5 shots against Buffalo looks pretty good Thursday.
