Avalanche Continue on as NHL’s Western Conference Favorites

The Colorado Avalanche made easy work of the Nashville Predators in Round 1 and they’ll move onto Round 2 as the NHL odds Western Conference favorites.

Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche were dominant in a four-game sweep of the Predators, and this will be an interesting test for them as they move on to face the St. Louis Blues in Round 2.

Colorado Avalanche Odds

The Avalanche boast the top NHL betting odds to represent the West in the Stanley Cup Finals, and it’s gotten to the point where they are no longer in positive territory at -115.

With the Flames’ victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 5 on Wednesday night, Calgary owns the second-highest NHL playoff odds to win the Western Conference at +250.

If chalk continues to hold true in their conference, the Flames and Avalanche will battle in the Western Finals, which would be an elite matchup. The Blues have the third-best odds at +700, and they’ll be in a tough spot against an Avalanche team that appears to be on a mission.

Looking at the tickets in the Western Conference, the Avalanche unsurprisingly have the highest percentage at 46.2%, followed by the Flames at 12.2% and the Wild at 11.4%.

Colorado presents such a unique challenge, as there aren’t a lot of holes on its roster, which should make things difficult for any team moving forward. In terms of the handle, the Avalanche are at 57.4%, while the next closest teams are the Flames at 9.1% and the Wild at 9%.

There might not be a ton of value in what the Avalanche have to offer. But one thing is for sure: If they continue to win games like they did in Round 1, that number they boast is going to be considered a discount over the next week.
