As the offseason winds down, now’s a good time to preview one of the league’s biggest awards for next regular season: the Vezina Trophy.
Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilveskiy won the award last season, the second of his career, after starting 58 games and earning a 2.31 GAA and .911 save percentage. He led the league with 39 wins, a mark he’s reached three times in his career.
For that outing, Vasilveskiy was rewarded with 73.55% of the vote and 17 first-place votes.Â
Now here’s a look at how the odds look for the 2026-27 Vezina as of July 14.Â

Who’s Favored to Win the 2026-27 Vezina Trophy?
Connor Hellebuyck, Jets (+400)
Coming off a disappointing 2025-26 season, Connor Hellebuyck is favored to win the Vezina this season.Â
To be fair, it wasn’t all disappointing for Hellebuyck who became somewhat of a folk hero in the U.S. after his dominant performance in the gold medal game at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. Hellebuyck made clutch saves throughout regulation and overtime.Â
But during the regular season, with his day job in Winnipeg, Hellebuyck played below his standard.
He had his highest goals allowed since his 2021-22 season while facing the fewer shots than any season outside of the pandemic-shortended 2020-21 season. Hellebuyck ended the year with a 2.86 GAA and a .895 save percentage in 57 games started.Â
Per Hockey Reference, 56.1% of his starts were quality but he also had a -0.3 goals save above average.
This was a major step down for the 33-year-old goaltender who won the Vezina and the Hart Trophy in 2025 after leading the Jets to a Presidents’ Trophy win.Â
For Hellebuyck’s sake and Winnipeg’s, he needs a better outing this season.Â
