Three of the last four weeks of the season have seen the Hoosiers take some tough knocks against top ten teams, including Cincinnati, Penn State, and this past weekend Michigan State.
So, how will they fare this week as another Big Ten Powerhouse comes visiting? The Buckeyes might be sitting fifth in the rankings, but with an early-season loss to Oregon, they still have some things to prove if they want to get in the playoffs. So, what are the college football odds saying about Ohio State at Indiana?
Read on to learn more about the Ohio State Buckeyes when they visit the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday.
Ohio State vs. Indiana
It’s likely to be another tough Saturday for the Hoosiers.
Last year saw the Hoosiers coming into the game with some momentum. Indiana went on a 28 point run in the second half of last year’s matchup to give the Buckeyes a scare, but in the end, Ohio State prevailed.
This year doesn’t look that promising for the 2-4 Hoosiers, who have already taken a beating from several other Big Ten teams.
Buckeyes Need to Focus on the Game in Front of Them
There’s a danger that Ohio State could overlook this Saturday’s game and instead think ahead to their matchups with Penn State, Michigan State, and Michigan. All you have to do is look at Iowa’s loss last week to Purdue to understand how dangerous it can be to overlook an opponent.
Ohio State has a history of those surprise losses too. Both Iowa and Purdue have shocked the ever-powerful Buckeyes in the past.
Is that likely to happen this week? Well, the Hoosiers have already taken on some tough teams, and now they will likely be without quarterback Michael Penix Jr. due to a shoulder injury.
Ohio State’s freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud appears to be hitting his stride after throwing five TD scoring passes against Maryland in Week 7. While Indiana’s defense isn’t horrible, they will be hard-pressed to slow down Ohio State. Saturday had them with nine straight scoring possessions and 598 yards of offense against Maryland.
Hoosiers Will Put Up a Fight
In Week 7, the Hoosiers’ defense attempted to surprise the Spartans with different defensive looks. However, the Hoosiers limited Kenneth Walker III, and the Spartans’ offense sputtered.
The Spartan defense had to hold back the Hoosier offense, including backup quarterback Jack Tuttle. Michigan State’s defense held them back on three game-changing drives during the first half.
Indiana will have their hands full against the potent Ohio State offense and might not have the offense themselves to keep up with the Buckeyes. So it could be another rough one in Bloomington.
Will Ohio State at Indiana Get Ugly?
Ohio State at Indiana might be a classic NCAA football Big Ten game day, but one of the teams wearing red and white isn’t going to have much fun. I believe that the Hoosiers are going to take a beating from the Buckeyes.
