Oklahoma at Oklahoma State provides us with one of the biggest in-state rivalries in all of college football. This year’s game looks  exciting as both teams are 7-1 in conference play and are battling for the top spot in the Big 12.

The Cowboys haven’t lost since October 23rd, when they fell to Iowa State, and are riding a four-game winning streak where they have held opponents to just 23 points overall. Oklahoma’s looking to avenge their recent loss to Baylor. So let’s see what the NCAAF betting lines have in store for us this week for Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma Keys to Victory

The Sooners can secure their spot in the Big 12 Championship game with a victory but will need help if they lose.

The Sooners will rely on Caleb Williams after he replaced Spencer Rattler midway through the season. Williams’ legs give him an advantage as he rushes for an average of 41 yards per game.

Oklahoma can put up points (38.9 per game) but will need to find a way to run the ball to keep a great OSU defense honest. The Cowboys’ defense only allows 85 rushing yards per game, so Oklahoma must run well to balance their attack.

Oklahoma State Keys to Victory

The Cowboys will look to air it out to complement their potent rushing attack against a Sooners team that allows 266.8 yards per game on average against the pass. Oklahoma’s defense bends and gives up an average of 384.5 total yards per game. Oklahoma State will look to break through to the end zone as the Sooners only allow 24.9 points per game.

However, the Cowboys’ defense will be the deciding factor if OSU prevails in this one. The Cowboys’ D has been tough on opponents all season long, surrendering just 261.3 yards per game while giving up a minuscule 14.9 points. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles transformed the Cowboys into a defense-first team in an offense-first conference.

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State: Best Bets

The Sooners have dominated this long-standing rivalry, including wins in the last six matchups. Last year’s game was a 41-13 blowout, but I expect this year to be much different. Both teams have played excellent football this season, and this game should be tight, especially with OSU’s home-field advantage.

The Cowboys come in as -4 favorites at home, and I think a raucous crowd should help their chances. However, the Sooners are 4-2 ATS in their last six games and 5-1 ATS in their previous six against the Cowboys.

The over/under is currently at 50.5 in a game that could be low-scoring. Cowboys’ games only hit above the total three games this season, while Oklahoma is 6-5 for the over.

I think the four-point spread is too much in this one, but like the Cowboys to win a tight one. So I’ll take the Sooners +4 and the under 50.5.

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State: Who Are You Taking?

It’s Oklahoma at Oklahoma State in the latest rendition of the Bedlam Series. With the Sooners’ impending move to the SEC, this could be the last of this historic rivalry. The Cowboys will look to make sure the door hits the Sooners on their way out and would love to give its home crowd a game to remember.
