The U.S. Open, golf’s third major of the year, is right around the corner.

It’s time to start digging into the U.S. Open golf odds to build a strategy for U.S. Open golf betting.

Unlike a regular PGA Tour event, where anyone teeing it up has a chance to win, winners of majors are usually among the best players in the world.

Here’s a look at the latest odds and five favorites to consider.

U.S. Open 2022 Predictions

Xander Schauffele, Odds to Win U.S. Open: +2200

The 28-year-old hasn’t won an individual event on the PGA Tour since the 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions, but since he’s won an Olympic gold medal in 2020 and the Zurich Classic with Patrick Cantlay earlier this year.

And while he hasn’t won as much as he’ would like recently, he has absolutely crushed the U.S. Open. He’s appeared in the event five times, and his results are: T-5, T-6, T-3, 5, T-7. So he consistently puts himself in a position to win at this event.

Clearly, Schauffele has what it takes to contend. He needs to take it one step further and figure out what it takes to win, but he is very close.

Collin Morikawa, Odds to Win U.S. Open: +2800

Morikawa is in a bit of a slump as he doesn’t have a top-25 finish in five events since the Masters.

But, this may be a good thing for this event. Otherwise, the 25-year-old would have had some of the shortest odds. Before a T-55 finish at the PGA Championship, Morikawa had a run of four straight majors with a top-10 finish.

Morikawa’s game is perfect for a U.S. Open course, and it feels like only a matter of time before he adds a U.S. Open trophy to his case.

Will Zalatoris Odds to Win U.S. Open: +2500

Zalatoris is arguably the best player on the PGA Tour without a victory, and it feels like his first may come at a major based on how he plays at them.

Taking out the 2021 British Open when he had to withdraw due to a wrist injury, the 25-year-old has competed in six majors, and he has top-8 finishes in five of them. He’s also coming off the PGA Championship, where he lost in a playoff to Justin Thomas.

Zalatoris has said he prefers to play challenging courses, and The Country Club certainly fits that bill.

Shane Lowry Odds to Win U.S. Open: +3300

This year, the 35-year-old is playing some solid golf on the PGA Tour, including three top 10s and eight top 25s in 13 starts.

Lowry has also played very well in majors of late. On top of winning the 2019 British Open, he’s made the cut in 12 straight and has two top-5 finishes in his last five played.

He will be a popular pick at next month’s British Open.

Cameron Young Odds to Win U.S. Open: +5000

Young, a PGA Tour rookie, was a relative unknown before finishing in a tie for third at the PGA Championship, but he’s put together a terrific rookie season.

The 25-year-old has five top-10 finishes, including at some big tournaments besides the PGA Championship – the Wells Fargo and the Genesis Invitational.

Young hits the ball a long way, and it’s only a matter of time before he finds the winner’s circle.
