While my picks last week for the Charles Schwab Challenge weren’t as good as the PGA Championship, I still hit on Davis Riley finishing in the top-20 so there’s some momentum heading into the Memorial Tournament.
When it comes to golf betting on this event, which is played at Muirfield Village just outside of Columbus, Ohio, typically players that play well at the course do so again year after year.
One of those is Jon Rahm, who has the best golf odds to win, at +1000 going into the tournament. (More on him soon.)
On top of Jack Nicklaus being the tournament host, it is a loaded field with seven of the top-10 players in the official world golf rankings, which gives the event a major-like feel.
Here are three of my favorite bets of the week.
Jon Rahm Top-5 Finish +220
As mentioned at the top, Rahm has dominated this event of late. He won it in 2020, and then last year, he had a six-shot lead following the third round but had to withdraw due to a positive COVID-19 test.
Although he had a disappointing T-48 finish at the PGA Championship, he won in Mexico his start before.
Rahm is tempting at +1000 to win outright, but +220 to finish in the top-5 feels like terrific value.

Will Zalatoris Top-10 Finish +275
Zalatoris is coming off a missed cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge, but he entered the PGA Championship following a missed cut at the AT&T Byron Nelson, and he lost in a playoff to Justin Thomas. So, a missed cut shouldn’t scare bettors away.
The 25-year-old ranks first in Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green on the PGA Tour this year and is 10th in Strokes Gained Off-the-Tee. His struggles come once he gets around and on the green, but Muirfield Village is a course where players can get away with putting poorly as long as their ball-striking is top-notch.
Zalatoris excels in majors, and this tournament always has a major-like feel. With six top-10 finishes in 16 starts this year, it certainly feels like it could be seven after this week.
Kevin Streelman Top-20 Finish +333
Yes, Streelman has missed the cut in three of his last five starts overall, and his best finish is T-41, but he excels at Muirfield Village.
Here are his most recent finishes at the course: T-13, T-7, T-54, 4, T-44, T-13, T-8, T-18.
The 43-year-old has cashed this bet six of his last eight times, so at +333, why not go for it to be seven of his last nine?
