The PGA Tour will remain in Texas following the CJ Cup Byron Nelson for the Charles Schwab Challenge from Colonial Country Club.

It isn’t a PGA Tour signature event, but several stars are teeing it up, including Ludvig Aberg, Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas.

Aberg has the best odds to win at +900. Ben Griffin is the defending champion.

Colonial Country Club is the longest-running course on the PGA Tour and favors precision over accuracy.

Typically, the players who do the best with their irons and putter win this event.

Charles Schwab Challenge Prediction

Ludvig Aberg is expected to win the Charles Schwab Challenge with a 10% implied probability, according to betting markets. Russell Henley is next at 5.26%.

Implied probability is the overall chance of a potential outcome in relation to the odds.

Charles Schwab Challenge Best Bets

Rickie Fowler Outright Winner (+2200)

Fowler’s last PGA Tour win was the 2023 Rocket Classic, so he’s certainly due. What he has going for him is that he’s in top form.

Prior to the PGA Championship, he had three straight top-10 finishes. In his last four starts, which include the PGA Championship, he gained more than a stroke in terms of Strokes Gained: Approach in all four events.

Fowler has also had some success at Colonial, which includes a T-6 in 2023 and a T-16 a year ago.

J.J. Spaun Top-10 Finish (+250)

Spaun has enjoyed a lot of success in Texas, as he’s won the Valero Texas Open twice, including last month.

He enters the week playing some solid golf, with three straight top 25s before the PGA Championship.

While he’s struggled a bit in the two majors this year, a weaker full-field event could make for another solid week.

Tony Finau Top-20 Finish (+225)

It has been a relatively disappointing year-plus for Finau, but he may have found something with a T-6 finish at last week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Finau should feel good about this week, too, as he has four top-20 finishes at Colonial, including a T-17 a year ago.

Like Spaun, a weaker full-field event should help his cause.
