Following another exciting PGA Championship, the PGA Tour will head to Texas for the CJ Cup Byron Nelson from TPC Craig Ranch.

It is not a PGA Tour signature event, so the vast majority of stars are taking the week off after a grueling stretch.

Texas natives Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth headline the field, along with Brooks Koepka.

Scheffler is the defending champion and enters the week with the best odds to win at +175.

The winning score has been 23-under or better for six straight years, including a tournament record of 31-under a year ago. All this to say, expect plenty of birdies to be made.

CJ Cup Byron Nelson Prediction

Scottie Scheffler is expected to win the CJ Cup Byron Nelson with a 36.36% implied probability, according to betting markets. Jordan Spieth and Si Woo Kim are next at 6.67%.

Implied probability is the overall chance of a potential outcome in relation to the odds.

CJ Cup Byron Nelson Best Bets

Austin Eckroat Outright Winner (+6600)

Yes, a bit of a longshot but that is to be expected in a week where Scheffler is +175 to win.

Eckroat is one of the more underrated players on the PGA Tour, and it feels like he should have more than two PGA Tour wins (2024 Cognizant Classic and 2024 World Wide Technology Championship).

He enters playing some good golf, with three straight top-20 finishes. He also has played well at TPC Craig Ranch before, with a T-2 in 2023.

Brooks Koepka Top-10 Finish (+225)

If Koepka’s putter was only average, he’d have more than one top-10 finish in his return to the PGA Tour. With that being said, he has five top 20s, so he’s performing pretty well considering he’s ranked near the bottom on Tour in putting.

Koepka continues to push toward getting into the year’s final PGA Tour signature events, and a good week here will do just that.

Against a weak field, this feels like solid value.
