Golfers to Win the First Two Majors of the Season

Rory McIlroy is seeking to join a rare group of golfers to win the first two majors of a season.

Only eight golfers since 1930 have won the first two major championships in a season. The last to achieve that feat is Jordan Spieth, who won the 2015 Masters and U.S. Open consecutively.

Tiger Woods joins Spieth as the only player since 2000 to earn the honor. Woods also earned a victory at Augusta National before winning the 2002 U.S. Open.

He ended a long drought of players to achieve that feat. Prior to Woods, Jack Nicklaus was the last to achieve it in 1972 (Masters and U.S. Open).
