- The John Deere Classic is July 3-6 from TPC Deere Run.
- Ben Griffin has the best odds to win at +1400.
- Explaining why Denny McCarthy has good value this week.
The PGA Tour will continue its Midwest swing with the John Deere Classic from TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, July 6-9.
While not a PGA Tour signature event, several stars are in the field, including Jason Day, Ben Griffin and Sungjae Im. This is a big week for players to take off, with the Genesis Scottish Open and Open Championship on deck.
Historically, TPC Deere Run turns into a birdie fest. The winning score has been 20-under or better in five of the last six years, including a 28-under performance by Davis Thompson last year.ย
I will be targeting players who make a ton of birdies this week and are in good form.

John Deere Classic Prediction
Ben Griffin is predicted to win the John Deere Classic with a 6.67% implied probability, according to betting markets. Jason Day is next at 4.35%.
Implied probability is the overall chance of a potential outcome in relation to the odds.
John Deere Classic Best Bets
Denny McCarthy Outright Winner (+2500)
This is not my favorite event of the year, with many players opting to rest up for the two tournaments across the Atlantic Ocean the next few weeks, so I will be keeping my card small.
McCarthy has emerged as one of the best players yet to win on the PGA Tour, and with a weak field, why not this week at a place heโs played well in the past?
The 32-year-old has finished T-7, T-6 and T-6 the last three years here, and is coming off a T-12 finish in his last event, the Travelers Championship, another birdie-fest.
His time is coming, and I donโt want to miss out on it when it does.
Denny McCarthy Top-10 Finish (+275)
Given his past performances at this tournament and a weak field, this feels like a great number.ย
Overall for the year, McCarthy is 16-for-16 in cuts made, including eight top 25s. And the majority of those events were against some of the best fields.ย
All the more reason to like him this week.
Michael Kim Top-20 Finish (+200)
Kim has a strange course history at TPC Deere Run. After winning in 2018, heโs missed the cut in his four appearances since. And even before winning, his best finish was a T-47.
He is having the best season of his PGA Tour career and expressed optimism on Twitter earlier in the week that he would change his recent trend at this event.ย
Like McCarthy earlier, this feels like solid value.ย ย
