Last year, Justin Rose came incredibly close to stealing the Masters from Rory McIlroy.
Rose lost in a playoff to his Ryder Cup teammate, the second time he fell in a playoff at Augusta National. Rose’s second playoff defeat came at the 2017 Masters, falling to Sergio Garcia.
Had Rose beaten McIlroy in the 2025 Masters playoff, he would have broken a longstanding record. A win would have rendered Rose the oldest Masters winner since Jack Nicklaus in 1986.
Including those two playoff losses, Rose consistently performed well at Augusta. Dating back to 2015, he finished inside the top-25 eight times, including five top-10 finishes.
Rose also posted a top-five finish in 2007 and four additional top-25s between 2011 and 2014.
