One-and-Done Golf Picks for BMW Championship

Below, golf one-and-done players can find three potential selections for the BMW Championship.

For those unfamiliar, OAD pools closely mirror an NFL survivor contest. Players select a golfer each week and earn their prize money at the conclusion of the event.

The catch? Contestants can only use a player once. Additionally, not all prize pools are created equally, which further adds to the game theory.

3 Best One-and-Done Picks for BMW Championship

Option #1: Ludvig Aberg (+1800)

Aberg offers players a high floor due to his consistent driving and iron record. In his previous two starts, he finished 10th or better while clearing +1.4 SG: Ball Striking both times.

Last week at TPC Southwind, he finished T-7th. Aberg paced the field in SG: OTT while showing spike potential on approach. In two of his four rounds, he cleared 1.3 SG: APP.

The iron ceiling over a longer timeframe offers further encouragement. Over his last 30 rounds, Aberg cleared +2 SG: APP at the 18th-highest rate in the field.

One of his best iron performances of the season came at Aronimink, a comparable course. There, he led the field in SG: BS and gained +1.3 SG: APP.

A +3.49 SG: APP round helped boost the figure. However, he gained over one twice. Add in a prior win at Torrey Pines South – another comp course – and I like him as a OAD option.

Option #2: Wyndham Clark (+2800)

After two missed cuts due to horrific approach play, Clark rapidly turned around his iron performance last week.

At the Open Championship and Rocket Classic, Clark lost over two strokes on approach in two of four rounds. Only once did he gain strokes against the field on approach.

But he spiked to +1.03 SG: APP at TPC Southwind en route to a top-five finish. Over four rounds, he cleared +1.15 SG: APP three times.

Over the last 30 rounds, Clark spiked to 2+ SG: APP at the highest rate in the field. It led him to a U.S. Open win at Shinnecock Hills, another lengthy Par-70 setup.

He also ranks second in efficiency on Par 4s between 451 and 500 yards over the last three months.

If Clark consistently finds fairways with his extra distance off the tee, he’ll pick up a huge advantage over the field. Those factors lead me to predict another strong finish.

Option #3: Jake Knapp (+4000)

If you’re someone who’s chasing the pack at this point, you’re likely looking for an under-the-radar ceiling case.

Knapp offers players that ceiling. He now has six top-10s and nine top-20s in 16 starts this year. Four failures came in his immediate return from an injury.

But he showed well at TPC Southwind, finishing T-7th. He gained off the tee in all four rounds and spiked to +1.2 SG: APP on Thursday and Friday.

Over the last 12 rounds, Knapp spiked to 3+ SG: APP at the highest rate in the field (16.7%), clearing 1+ in 58.7% of those 12 rounds.

He also owns two top-five finishes at Torrey Pines. Earlier this year, he finished T-5th at the Farmers, two years after a T-3rd. At the 2025 Genesis there, he finished T-17th.

Given those factors, Knapp presents a good flier to try and gain ground.
