One-and-Done Golf Picks for Wyndham Championship

3 Best Golf One-and-Done Picks for Wyndham Championship

Option #1: Jackson Koivun (+2000)

The phenom naturally came back down to Earth in Detroit after a win in Minneapolis. Still, it’s largely attributed to extreme putting regression rather than ball-striking concerns.

Koivun went from gaining +1.6 SG: Putting in his win to losing -0.53 in a T-31st at Detroit GC. However, putting usually proves the highest-variance statistic weekly.

While Koivun fell from +2.34 SG: APP at the 3M to +0.53 in Detroit, he still offers strong spike potential. Over the last 50 rounds, only four players cleared +1 SG: APP at a higher rate.

He also partook in last year’s Wyndham Championship, finishing T-5th. For the week, he cleared +1.3 SG: APP twice and +1.1 SG: Putting twice.

Over his last nine starts on the PGA Tour, Koivun finished outside the top-11 three times, including only one missed cut.

In a comparably weaker field, Koivun offers a good OAD option before the big-money playoff events.

Option #2: Aaron Rai (+3000)

Rai won the PGA Championship at Aronimink, another Ross design, and arrives with a superb Wyndham Championship record.

The Englishman won here in 2024 and defended his title with another top-five finish in 2025. Over those eight rounds, Rai spiked to +1.4 SG: APP or better seven times.

Something about the course clearly suits his eye from an iron standpoint. Additionally, he spiked to +1 SG: Putting or better in half of those eight rounds.

While the recent form leaves something to be desired – MC at both the Scottish Open and Open Championship – he still cleared +1 SG: APP in three of those four rounds.

Additionally, only two players generated more scoring opportunities inside five feet this season than Rai.

Pair those factors with the Sedgefield success, and I like Rai to bounce back this week.

Option #3: Alex Fitzpatrick (+4500)

Horrific putting metrics haven’t limited Fitzpatrick’s success this season. Despite gaining strokes putting only twice in nine events, he recorded four top-10 finishes.

Fitzpatrick last lost strokes on approach at the PGA Championship, gaining in six straight events. Since June 1, only three players have gained more strokes on approach.

The sample includes a T-7th at TPC River Highlands, a comparable setup. There, he gained +1.38 SG: APP, his second-best output of the entire season.

In a stronger field, that performance ranked fifth in SG: APP for the week. Fitzpatrick also ranked 16th in SG: OTT, ranking third in SG: BS.

Poor results across the pond may lead players to forget about Fitzpatrick. However, the ball-striking record leads me to consider him as a OAD play down the board.
