After a week in Hawaii, the PGA Tour will be in California this week for The American Express.
The event is at PGA West in La Quinta , which has three courses — Pete Dye SC, Nicklaus TC, La Quinta CC. Players play all three courses for the first three rounds, and then the final round is exclusively at the Pete Dye SC.
Because of this, every player will play three rounds, and the cut will be on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s final round.
While not a PGA Tour signature event, plenty of stars are in the field, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, making his season debut.
As of Wednesday, Scheffler has the best odds to win this week at +300.
It is typically a birdie-fest, with the winning score being 23-under or better each of the last seven years.
From a data standpoint, it is hard to measure, as only the Stadium course at PGA West has Shotlink data.
