One of those is Shane Lowry, a popular player who has played in a number of Ryder Cups for Team Europe.
The other? Austin Smotherman.
Who Is Austin Smotherman?
The 31-year-old has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but does have three wins on the Korn Ferry Tour.
Smotherman got 2026 PGA Tour status by way of finishing No. 3 on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour money list. He won twice, including the BMW Charity Pro-Am and Memorial Health Championship.
He went to college at SMU, where he was teammates with Bryson DeChambeau.
Smotherman was on the PGA Tour for a few seasons, but lost his card in 2024.
