  • The Worldwide Technology Championship was Nov. 2-5.
  • Erik van Rooyen won for the second time on the PGA Tour.
  • The purse was $8.2 million with a winner's share of $1,476,000.

The PGA Tour returned back in Mexico for the Worldwide Technology Championship, Nov. 2-5.

It was played at El Cardonal at Diamante in Los Cabos, Mexico. This was a switch from recent years when it was played at El Camaleón Golf Course in Mayakoba.

Tiger Woods designed the course, and it was the first time a Woods-designed course hosted a PGA Tour event.

It wasn’t a PGA Tour signature event, but several solid players were in the field, including Ludvig Aberg, Cameron Young and Sahith Theegala.

In the end, Erik van Rooyen picked up his second career PGA Tour win.

He finished at 27-under, which was good for a two-shot victory. The 33-year-old shot a 28 on the back-nine, which included a birdie-birdie-eagle finish.

The tournament had a $8.2 million purse.

How Much Does the Winner of the World Wide Technology Championship Make?

Erik van Rooyen’s winner’s share for the World Wide Technology Championship was $1,476,000.
