How Many Points Can the Arizona Cardinals Score in Week 7?

NFL Week 7

This Sunday, the undefeated Arizona Cardinals (6-0) will host the Houston Texans (1-5). These two teams are quite literally at opposite ends of the spectrum in the NFL this season. It could get ugly.

The latest NFL odds give the Cardinals a 17-point advantage, which is enormous for an NFL game.

At -1600, the Cardinals are expected to win by a lot in Week 7. The only question is whether Houston can put up a fight.

The Arizona Cardinals Are Really Good

The Arizona Cardinals are an excellent football team. Last week against the Cleveland Browns, quarterback Kyler Murray threw four touchdown passes. Surprisingly, the Cardinals were the underdog in that game, winning 37-14.

Against the Indianapolis Colts last week, the Texans scored only three points. Quarterback David Mills threw two interceptions. Colts quarterback Carson Wentz had only 11 completions for 223 yards with two touchdown passes.

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor amassed 145 rushing yards and two scores on 14 carries. If the Colts can score 31 against the Texans, the Cardinals should put on a football clinic.

In their game last week against the Browns (a team that gave up 47 points to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5), the Cardinals ran a well-balanced offense. They had 24 first downs on 69 total plays, including a nearly 50% third-down conversion rate.

The Cardinals’ defense also stopped the Browns three times on fourth down.

Nobody in the NFL is playing better football than the Cardinals. They are favored against the Texans by a whopping 17 points, likely one of the biggest point-spreads this season.

Texans vs. Cardinals

Last week against the Browns, Cardinals’ running backs James Conner and Chase Edmonds totaled over 100 yards on the ground. Conner took the bulk of the workload, while Edmonds averaged 11.5 yards on just four rushes.

Murray continued to show why he is a top contender for this year’s MVP, throwing touchdown passes to A.J. Green, Christian Kirk, and two to DeAndre Hopkins.

The Colts also possess an above-average receiving corps, and they were able to have one of their better games this season when they played the Texans last week. I’ll be looking for the Cardinals to top that performance by a lot.

Currently, the Arizona Cardinals are at -105 to score under 31.5 this week. To score under 32.5, they are at -110. And they are at -115 to score over 32.5.

Their odds to score under 30.5 stand at +120.

So, it looks like they’ll be expected to score at least 31 points against the Texans. I’d even take their odds at +120 to score over 34.5.

The Texans gave up an average of just over 30 points per matchup in their last five games. I believe that the Cardinals will win easily, and I think they can score 35 points this week, another above-average game on offense.

The only concern is that the Cardinals might have such a big lead at half-time that they’ll decide to keep some of their starters on the sidelines as a way of resting them for what will be a short week before they face the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night in Week 8.

The Cardinals are undefeated for a reason, and the Texans are an NFL team in a rebuilding stage.

My prediction is that Arizona wins big. Texans 10, Cardinals 35.

Arizona Cardinals: The Best Team in the NFL?

The Cardinals should get an easy win in Week 7, but they won’t want to give too much away before their Week 8 matchup against the Packers.

I’ve never seen a +950 money line when it comes to NFL games. Even the winless Detroit Lions have remained competitive, while the Jacksonville Jaguars finally won a game, although they had to go all the way to London to do it.

Right now, the Cardinals are the best team in the NFL. They should do just fine against the Texans this week, scoring over 30 points for the sixth time this season.
