The All-Star game is always an excellent opportunity to sit back and take in the season so far and the form of each team. It also offers a chance to recognize the star players this season. With the NHL All-Star weekend fresh in our memory, we decided to focus our NHL Power Rankings on the most in-form teams that went into the break, as well as who the key players in each team could be as we gear up towards April.

1: Florida Panthers

The Panthers are on an excellent winning streak at the moment. Going into the All-Star weekend, they had an 8-2-0 record after winning 6 games in a row. They’ll be fighting off pressure from the Maple Leafs, Canadiens, and Sabres for the playoff spot and will hope that Jonathan Huberdeau will be the man to take them there. He currently has 65 points this season from 18 goals and 47 assists.

2: Columbus Blue Jackets

Like the Panthers, the Blue Jackets are in a rich vein of form, boasting an 8-2-0 record with six wins on the trot. This has helped them force their way into the playoff conversation in the Metropolitan Division. Seth Jones has been a force in their form and he was the only Blue Jackets player in the All-Star weekend.

3: Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning have finally found their momentum and have surged back to the playoff positions. The Lightning are finding form at the right time with an 8-2-0 record before the All-Star weekend, which will make a lot of sports betting fans feel a lot more at ease. Nikita Kucherov has been instrumental in making the Lightning strike with 22 goals and 32 assists.

4: Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks have had a hot and cold season in a fiercely competitive Pacific Division. Their form going into the All-Star weekend, a record of 7-3-0 and a two-game winning streak, saw them top the division. Elias Pettersson has been in great form with 21 goals and 30 assists. They’ll be hoping to keep this consistency going towards April.

5: Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins have shifted gears at the right time this season and had a 7-3-0 record before the All-Star break. Jake Guentzel has been a star performer with 20 goals and 23 assists. His form earned him a selection at the All-Star weekend. The Penguins will need to maintain their form to hold the Islanders, Blue Jackets, Hurricanes, and Flyers at bay.

6: Dallas Stars

The Stars form of 7-3-0 helped them remain in a playoff spot going into the break. Tyler Seguin has been their star player so far this season. He has helped coordinate their playoff push with 11 goals and 25 assists.

7: Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers have proved to be a decent dark horse bet this season for NHL sports betting enthusiasts. While many have wondered if they can remain in a playoff spot, the 6-3-1 record before the All-Star weekend suggests they can. Connor McDavid has been in his career-best form with 27 goals and 49 assists.

8: Washington Capitals

The Capitals seem on course to top the Metropolitan Division. Their recent record of 6-4-0 has shown that they’re not unbeatable though. Their attacks are spearheaded by the Great Eight Alex Ovechkin. He has scored 34 goals and 16 assists, shooting his way into the top 10 NHL goal scorers of all time.

9: Calgary Flames

The Flames haven’t burnt as bright as last season but could still top their division. A recent 6-4-0 record has shown that they could still shift another gear. Defenseman Mark Giordano has been immense so far this season.

10: Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks are still in contention for a playoff spot with a 6-4-0 record before the All-Star weekend. They wouldn’t have been in too many sports betting picks at the start of the season. Patrick Kane has been a frontrunner in proving the doubters wrong. He has 25 goals and 38 assists.

11: Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche has performed excellently this season and look set for a playoff spot. Their recent form of 5-3-2 hasn’t been great, but three wins in a row have helped to keep confidence high. Nathan MacKinnon has been their standout player with 30 goals and 42 assists.

12: Boston Bruins

The Bruins have earned decent sports betting odds to go all the way this season. They’ve stuck true despite their recent 5-3-2 record. David Pastrnak has been in excellent form this season with 37 goals and 44 assists.

13: St. Louis Blues

The Blues posted a strong defense of their Stanley Cup win. They’ll want to stop their losing streak in their 5-3-2 record. David Perron is the man to do it for them. So far he has 21 goals and 28 assists.

14: Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes are still pushing for a playoff position. They went into a break on a two-game winning streak and 5-4-1 record. Sebastian Aho has fired in 24 goals and provided 18 assists.

15: Philadelphia Flyers

Despite lying low in their division table, the Flyers are still very much in contention for a playoff spot. A 5-4-1 record with two wins going into the All-Star weekend will give fans optimism. Travis Konecny has been at the heart of their successes, with 17 goals and 26 assists.

16: Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes have had some great moments of form this season. They’ll be hoping to improve on their 5-4-1 record and return to winning ways. Darcy Kuemper has been a wall of a goalie and has made the Coyotes difficult to score against.

17: Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres led their division to many sports betting pundits surprise earlier in the season. Their 5-5-0 record going into All-Star weekend sums up their season. Jack Eichel has been a standout performer with 28 goals and 34 assists.

18: Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs were in many sports betting picks at the start of the season but have yet to find consistency. A recent record of 4-3-3 is a case in point. Auston Matthews looks to be a generational talent. He has already scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists.

19: New York Islanders

The Islanders have to look over their shoulder after a 4-4-2 record going into the break. That being said there are still favorable sports betting odds for Barry Trotz to take them all the way. They’ll be counting on Mathew Barzal, who has 17 goals and 25 assists.

20: Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens look on course to miss out on the playoffs if they don’t correct their 4-5-1 record. Two wins in a row is the right direction. Tomas Tatar is trying to keep the hope alive with 17 goals and 26 assists.

21: Minnesota Wild

The Wild are still in playoff contention by a whisker. A 4-5-1 record is a fair reflection of where they currently sit in the Central Division. Eric Staal has been their go-to player with 17 goals and 21 assists.

22: Nashville Predators

The Predators have had a terrible season after topping their division last season. A 4-5-1 record shows faint signs of a fightback. Roman Josi has been a rare source of joy for Predators fans this season with 14 goals and 34 assists.

23: Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights will want to improve on their 4-5-1 record and break their losing streak. If not, they risk falling away from the playoff spots. Max Pacioretty will be an important player for them. He’s already scored 21 goals and provided 26 assists.

24: San Jose Sharks

The Sharks have drifted through this season without ever kicking into gear. They went into the All-Star weekend on a three-game losing streak and 4-5-1 record. Logan Couture has performed well with 14 goals and 22 assists.

25: New Jersey Devils

The Devils had a 4-5-1 record, with three consecutive losses, going into the break. Kyle Palmieri has played well with 16 goals and 15 assists.

26: New York Rangers

The Rangers flattered to deceive this season, and their recent 4-6-0 record is a good indication of the remainder of the season. Artemi Panarin will attract suitors with his 26 goals and 42 assists.

27: Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks have had a two-game winning resurgence in their 3-6-1 record. Jakob Silfverberg has played well for his 15 goals and 14 assists.

28: Winnipeg Jets

The Jets seem to be trying their best to get sports betting sites to write them off for the playoffs. They’re still in contention, but a dreadful 3-6-1 record with four consecutive defeats see them undoing the hard work done by Mark Scheifele, who has 23 goals and 31 assists.

29: Los Angeles Kings

Another disappointing season for the Kings. They had a 2-7-1 record before the break. Anze Kopitar has stood out with 17 goals and 26 assists.

30: Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings are on a six-game losing streak in a 2-7-1 record. They won’t be giving sports betting sites sleepless nights any time soon. Dylan Larkin has been decent with 13 goals and 23 assists.

31: Ottawa Senators

The Senators are still in need of a rebuild. With a 1-5-4 record, things aren’t working. Anthony Duclair should be part of their plans. He has scored 21 goals and provided 12 assists.
