The Titans surprised the NFL world by beating the Los Angeles Rams without star running back Derrick Henry. This week, according to NFL betting lines from BetMGM, Tennessee is favored by 3 points in the Saints at Titans matchup.

Tennessee quarterback Ryan Tannehill was able to move the offense even without Derrick Henry in Week 9. The Titans defense was the real story against the Rams, however, and that unit will hope to disrupt a Saints offense that’s trying to figure things out after losing Jameis Winston for the season in Week 8.

Check out the article below to find out how the Titans might fare in their Week 10 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

The Titans Defense Stepped up on Sunday

Tennessee’s win on Sunday was due in large part to the performance of its defense. Although the Titans did give up 347 yards of offense to the Rams, the Titans were able to intercept Stafford twice to stop Los Angeles drives. Tennessee also racked up five sacks a week after getting seven hits on Colts quarterback Carson Wentz.

The Tennessee Run Game Struggled Without Derrick Henry

Although they signed Adrian Peterson mid-week, the Titans ended up using six different rushers in Week 9. Peterson got the 10 carries to lead all rushers, but Devonta Foreman and Jeremy McNichols were in the mix as well.

As a team, Tennessee only managed to gain 64 yards on the ground. It’s going to be difficult for the Titans to change their entire identity midseason, but they may have to if the running game can’t produce without Derrick Henry.

The one area in which the Titans run game did perform well is in the red zone. Tennessee was 3-3 in the red zone and two of those touchdowns came via the run.

Highlighting the Coaching Matchup in Week 10

Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel deserves a lot of credit for the way the Titans have been able to overcome injuries this season. In addition to Derrick Henry, the Titans were also without right guard Nate Davis on Sunday. In Week 10, Vrabel will be going up against Sean Payton in the Saints vs. Titans matchup.

Payton will be tasked with getting the Saints back in the win column while relying on a backup quarterback. Trevor Siemian threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday, but credit must go to Sean Payton for providing Siemian with an offensive game plan that nearly guided the Saints to victory against the Atlanta Falcons.

It appears as though the New Orleans Saints can be competitive no matter who is under center, and that’s a testament to Sean Payton’s coaching.

Predicting the Outcome in the Saints at Titans Matchup

Tennessee has already beaten the Bills and Rams in games in which the Titans were underdogs. There’s little reason to doubt the Titans in any matchup moving forward. They have proved that they weren’t entirely dependent on Derrick Henry. Tennessee sports betting fans can wager on the Saints at Titans game in Week 10 by visiting the BetMGM NFL odds page.
