In Week 12, the Seattle Seahawks (3-7) will play the Washington Football Team (4-6) on Monday Night Football. NFL betting lines show that both teams match up well against each other.
Here are the top three bets for the Seahawks at the Washington Football team game this week.
Seattle Seahawks vs. WFT Week 12 Money Line
As of Week 12, the Seattle Seahawks are in last place in the NFC West. After losing two straight, they’re six games off the pace of the division-leading Arizona Cardinals.
Two weeks ago, quarterback Russell Wilson returned early from a finger injury on his throwing hand. Then, against the Green Bay Packers, the Seahawks suffered their first shutout loss in a decade.
They also lost at home last week to the Cardinals, 23-13. An anemic offense and a defense that’s allowing an average of 401.8 total yards per game mean a proud Seahawks team is now second-to-last in the NFC playoff picture.
The Seahawks (-105) at Washington Football Team (-110) matchup offers a money line for both teams that is nearly identical. So, you could pick either group as a great bet for this game.
The WFT stunned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10. Their offense played better than the Bucs in almost every category. WFT picked up 23 first downs and went 11/23 on third downs while gaining 94 yards on the ground.
With double the time of possession and two dozen more plays, the WFT won 29-19 against the defending Super Bowl champs. (They intercepted Tom Brady twice.)
Last week, quarterback Taylor Heinicke threw three touchdown passes against the Carolina Panthers. A balanced offense that gained 179 yards in the air and 190 yards on the ground stayed ahead of a Cam Newton reunion in Carolina. That offensive attack gave the WFT a 27-21 victory.
Considering the Seahawks’ recent struggles, I like WFT on the money line this Monday night.
Which Team Can Cover the Spread?
The opening point spread for the Seahawks (+1) vs. WFT (-1) isn’t much. So if you’re planning on betting the money line, you might want to look elsewhere for a small wager.
I think the WFT can cover the spread. But you’ll get much better value if you pick the winning margin for the game in another way.
The Washington Football Team by 1-6 offers +310 odds. That’s a great play. A winning margin of 7-12 offers +425.
These are worth small wagers because The WFT has played much better than the Seahawks recently. So, I like them to win by at least a field goal.
The Over-Under for the Seahawks vs. WFT
Both the Seahawks and WFT score under 25 points per game this season. So, you’d expect an over-under for their meeting in the low 40s. However, the opening line is 46.5. This line looks a tad high to me as teams gain a lot of yards against the Seahawks but don’t manage to score a lot of points (Seattle is seventh in the NFL for points allowed).
Seattle has an over under record of 1-8-1. (Last in the NFL.) Washington, on the other hand, is 5-5.
Take the under here before the line gets any lower. The WFT has been successful on offense against some formidable defenses recently, averaging 28 points in their last two matchups against the Panthers and the Buccaneers.
But their defense has given up more points than Seattle this season. So, the final score for this game may amount to about 45. I wouldn’t take anything lower than 44.5.
It’ll be prime-time football. Both teams will come ready to play on Monday night. But their offenses are slightly below average, so a final score of 24-20 feels correct.
