Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo posted five goals during the Euro 2020 group stages, but his country was shut down and eliminated by Belgium in the Round of 16 knockout stage. The world’s top all-time international scorer with 109 goals (tied with Iran’s Ali Daei) will stay at five goals for Euro 2020, but still holds the lead for the tournament’s Golden Boot Award for top scorer (see list below).

That lead could disappear in the next few days, and the Euro 2020 odds for the award have tightened.

The Czech Republic’s Patrik Schick (+400) is sitting at four goals after a two-goal effort against Scotland, one versus Croatia, while also scoring one of his team’s two goals in the Round of 16 to knock off soccer betting odds favorite Netherlands. He’ll get a crack at Denmark in the quarterfinals on Saturday. France’s Karim Benzema and Sweden’s Emil Forsberg also scored four goals, but their teams have been eliminated.

Some big-name challengers are sitting at three goals. Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku (+500) and England’s Raheem Sterling (+600) have a chance to face off in the Euro 2020 final on July 11, giving them the potential of three more matches to add to their totals should their sides advance that far.

Ronaldo is the all-time leading scorer in Euro tournament history with 14 in 25 matches played. He has played in every tournament since 2004.

Will somebody pass one of the greatest goal scorers in world history, and how do this year’s numbers compare to the recent past? Take a look:

YEAR RECENT GOLDEN BOOT WINNERS GOALS
1996 Alan Shearer, England 5
2000 Patrick Kluivert, Netherlands &Savo Milosevic, Serbia 5
2004 Milan Baros, Czech Republic 5
