Europe had to wait an extra year to enjoy its most important international tournament, but you don’t have to wait to get the Euro 2020 odds! The action with the BetMGM soccer betting lines reflects the anticipation, and already there’s one country that is turning heads with the action it is receiving.

Denmark, ranked 10th in the world in the most recent FIFA national team ranking released May 27, opened at +8000 in the Euro 2020 odds. The Danes, led by captain Simon Kjær and leading scorer Christian Eriksen (36 career goals, 107 caps), are now at +2800.

The other two key movers since the Euro 2020 betting odds opened are France (from +550 to +450) and Italy (+1200 to +1000).

The sportsbook anticipates the Euro 2020 being one of the most competitive tournaments in recent years with seven teams listed at +1000 or bettor odds to win. France is the betting favorite and has received the most tickets and handle, helping move the team’s odds from +550 to +450.

France’s ticket handle percentage is ahead of Italy and Portugal (see full chart below), while the French are ahead of Belgium and England regarding ticket percentage. As mentioned above, France is the favorite at +450, with England (+500), Belgium (+550), Germany (+700), Spain (+800), and Portugal (+800) all coming in under +1000 in the soccer odds.

Below is a look at Euro 2020’s top 10 teams (ranked by handle% = total amounts of bets taken):

This is the 16th UEFA European Championship, known more commonly as Euro 2020. The month-long event was first held in 1960 and had been contested every four years until it was postponed from last year to this year because of the global pandemic. The tournament opens with Italy playing host to Turkey in Rome on June 11, with the Azzuri (-175) heavily favored against the Turks (+575) in the Euro 2020 betting odds.

While Italy is hosting the opening game, the 24-team tournament — which typically is hosted by one country — will be played in 11 different countries from June 11 to July 11, with the final being at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on the final day.
