Super Bowl Odds: How Many Total Turnovers Will There Be?

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford accumulated a lot of gaudy stats this season. He’s also thrown 18 interceptions.

The Cincinnati Bengals have good fortune on their side right now, generating a slew of high-leverage, tipped-ball interceptions. They have six interceptions so far this postseason.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has done a slightly better job with ball security this year, but he’s still thrown 16 picks since the start of the 2021 NFL season, including two during the playoffs.

On balance, the Rams are +2 in turnover margin, thanks in large part to the 19 picks the back end of the defense has generated. 

Cincinnati is one of three teams that is net neutral in turnovers on the year.

Surviving turnovers is the mark of a good offense; creating them is the mark of a great defense. The team that creates a possession advantage for itself this weekend in Super Bowl 56 will obviously have a big edge.
