The championship rematch between Takuma Inoue and Tenshin Nasukawa for the WBC bantamweight world title will be part of the boxing card Sunday at the Tokyo Dome.

Because he won their first meeting, Inoue heads into the rematch as the betting favorite with -230 boxing odds, while Nasukawa, who seeks revenge, is going to be the +200 betting underdog. A draw result has odds of +1400.

Takuma Inoue vs. Tenshin Nasukawa 2: Prediction

A decision win for Inoue is my prediction over Nasukawa in this rematch because he’s more experienced and has better cardio for 12 rounds. This mirrors their first meeting in November, when Inoue capitalized on Nasukawa’s lack of cardio in the later rounds.

Nasukawa is undoubtedly the more explosive and athletic boxer, thanks to his background as a former kickboxing world champion. But that usually lasts only six rounds before his output and power fade.

With the fight IQ and economical approach of Inoue, I think he’ll be able to turn up the fight starting in the seventh round, where he probes with his jabs and movement to land the cleaner and damaging punches to sway the judges in giving him another decision victory.

Takuma Inoue’s Recent Fight Results

Inoue is the reigning WBC bantamweight champion. He won four of his last five matches, defeating Jerwin Ancajas, Sho Ishida, Nasukawa, and Kazuto Ioka, while his only loss in that stretch came to Seiya Tsutsumi.

Tenshin Nasukawa’s Recent Fight Results

Nasukawa is a former kickboxing world champion who transitioned to boxing in 2023. He scored four wins in his last five bouts, beating Gerwin Asilo, Jason Moloney, Victor Santillan, and Juan Francisco Estrada, but lost to Inoue in their first meeting.
