NFL Week 7

The Washington Football Team couldn’t do enough on offense to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Now, they have to travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. According to NFL betting lines from BetMGM, the Green Bay Packers are 9.5-point favorites in this game.

Washington Football Team quarterback Taylor Heinicke could not take advantage of a leaky Chiefs defense in Week 6, and it doesn’t get any easier next week.

The Packers’ defense held the Bears to just 174 passing yards last week and will have the advantage of playing in front of a loud Lambeau Field crowd in NFL Week 7.

Will Taylor Heinicke be able to compete with Aaron Rodgers to keep the game competitive? Read on for predictions and analysis regarding Washington vs. Green Bay in Week 7.

Heinicke Will Look To Be More Aggressive in Week 7

Heinicke will have to be more accurate in Week 7 to give Washington a chance to win. Against the Chiefs, Heinicke completed just 24 of his 39 passes. Heinicke also has to be more aggressive.

He averaged just 7.58 yards per completion against Kansas City and was unable to surpass 200 yards passing. However, Washington has the weapons to take advantage of the deep passing game, as evidenced by Heinicke’s long touchdown to Ricky Seals-Jones against the Chiefs.

The offensive struggles aren’t all on Heinicke. WFT running back Antonio Gibson fumbled last week and rushed for just 44 yards. He’ll have to quickly bounce back with a better performance for Washington to compete in Week 7.

It appears as though the Washington defense won’t be living up to lofty preseason expectations, meaning Heinicke and the offense will have to put up points.

Washington just gave up 31 points to the Chiefs despite Mahomes throwing two interceptions. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers present an equally difficult challenge.

Taylor Heinicke Needs to Use His Legs

It’s a problem when you look at Taylor Heinicke’s stats and don’t see any rushing yards. On Sunday against the Chiefs, Heinicke had zero rushing attempts.

This was an anomaly for Heinicke, who had at least five rushing attempts in each of his previous three games. Heinicke’s rushing ability is one of his greatest strengths, and he must find a way to gain yards on the ground if he’s unable to find anyone open.

Heinicke will never rush for as many yards as Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen, but he can run and should never go an entire game without even attempting a rush.

Predicting Taylor Heinicke’s Performance in Week 7

This season, Taylor Heinicke has shown promise, but he took a step backward last week against the Chiefs.

If Heinicke wants to keep his starting job for the foreseeable future, performing well against Green Bay could go a long way towards helping him do that.
