On Sunday afternoon in Week 11, the visiting Houston Texans (1-8) will face the best team in the AFC, the Tennessee Titans (8-2).

Current NFL odds put the Titans as a heavy favorite at home. So let’s take a closer look at the Texans at Titans this week.

Houston Texans: The Worst Team in the NFL?

According to the playoff picture, the Texans sit at dead last in the AFC. In addition, quarterback Deshaun Watson remains sidelined in legal limbo. And head coach David Culley is back on the NFL hot seat.

The Texans have allowed nearly 29 points per game so far this season. Their offense has averaged just over 14 points per contest.

The Texans are on an eight-game losing skid after winning at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1.

Before their bye last week, quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw three interceptions on the road against the Miami Dolphins. In addition, the Texans totaled eight penalties in that game for 60 yards.

They had nearly that many yards running the ball. In other words, the Texans might be the worst team in the NFL.

Surprisingly, they are 4-5 ATS overall. However, as the away team, they are 1-4 ATS, losing by an average of slightly more than 22 points.

Can they cover a 10.5-point spread?

Texans at Titans

At the opposite end of the spectrum sits the Titans. They’re on a six-game winning streak which includes losing Derrick Henry, their star running back.

The Titans won last week at home versus the New Orleans Saints, 23-21. But the Saints covered the small spread.

Before that, the Titans routed the Los Angeles Rams, 28-16. They were a heavy underdog in that prime-time matchup.

Head coach Mike Vrabel is certainly not on the hot seat. Instead, he’s in the running for the NFL Coach of the year. The Titans have managed to establish an identity without Henry.

For the Texans at Titans in Week 11, it will be the first time these two AFC South teams meet. The Titans won their last three matchups.

A 10.5 spread might seem a little daunting. However, the Titans are 3-2 ATS at home, with a margin of victory less than a field goal.

But with the current point spread, the Texans would’ve only covered in three games during their losing streak.

Tennesse is 3-0 ATS versus divisional opponents this season. Houston is 1-1.

It’s a tough call.

Which Team Can Cover the Spread?

The Texans are not a good football team, and they’re even worse on the road. But, on the other hand, the Titans have the best record in the AFC.

They are 1-1 ATS without Henry. Do they have a shot at achieving a winning record in that category?

Against the Texans, I think so.

Get your bets in early for this one before the sports betting line moves too much. One of the best teams in the NFL should cover for the Texans at Titans in Week 11.

What do you think? Do you like the Tennessee Titans to cover the spread? Or would you take the points with the Houston Texans?

Don’t wait. Make your pick today.
