The Titans’ offense isn’t looking good. Now, that doesn’t mean I think they don’t have a chance. Sure, there’s plenty of reason to doubt the team’s capacity to put points on the board, but there’s still some hope.

NFL Week 6 is a chance for the Titans to prove that they belong in Super Bowl conversations, but to get there, they’ll need to go through a Bills team that looks unstoppable.

Pushing Past Injuries

The Tennessee Titans currently have a myriad of injured players. However, Brown and Dupree are jumping into the mix and set for full participation as of Thursday. This development is significant because both players are currently pushing through minor injuries.

The Titans need Brown and Dupree to push through because various players are sidelined due to injuries. Julio Jones is suffering from a hamstring injury, and Brett Kern has a groin injury.

Unconfirmed inactive or limited players, currently injured, include Tommy Hudson, Racey McMath, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Ty Sambrailo.

While defensive injuries may not seem to impact offensive scoring predictions, they can play a significant role. Tennessee needs to put pressure on MVP candidate Josh Allen. If not, Allen will have a field day with the Titans’ secondary, which could force Tennessee to abandon the running game too early in an attempt to keep up on the scoreboard.

There’s a struggle to be had, but I expect to see the Titan’s offense make some impressive plays and put a decent chunk of points on the board. Considering they’re missing a few key players on the offense, though, they’ll have to lean more heavily on the defense.

NFL Week 6 is a war of attrition for the Titans, as they’ll have to focus more on keeping the Bills from scoring than grabbing points for themselves. But, of course, keeping the Bills out of the end zone is easier said than done, as Buffalo is quite impressive offensively.

The Bills also have the highest-ranked defense in the NFL. If Tennessee wants to win this game, they have to remain patient and lean on Derrick Henry. The running game will help them limit the number of possessions for the Bills, giving the Titans a chance to win it in the fourth.

I expect the Titans’ defense to perform better than expected in this game, in part because of the offense’s ability to run the ball. A rested defense is an effective one. If Tannehill can control the game through short passes to receivers in space and Derrick Henry carries the ball more than 20 times, I think Tennessee can wear down the Bills heading into the fourth.

I believe the Titans can score 24 points, but I’m not sure if that’s enough for the win.
