Week 8 NFL

Week 8 kicks off with a bang on Thursday night with a game that features two of the league’s best in the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers. It’s without question the best Thursday night game of the year and the perfect appetizer for what looks to be a feast of marquee matchups this Sunday, with plenty of divisional games and no shortage of playoff implications.

It’s deep enough in the season now that teams have shown us what we can expect from them. While there will undoubtedly be plenty of surprises remaining this year, we have a good idea of who teams are and can bet with a little more confidence. Of course, it’s one thing to bet on one game, but the real fun starts when you can hit on a few NFL parlays. So let’s take a look at some of the best plays for this week’s sports betting.

Bills -13.5, Colts +1, Bengals -9.5

We’re going to look at three-game NFL parlay bets today, with the total odds producing +595. First, we’ll start with the Bills, who are coming off of a bye week. They’ve had two weeks to think about their failed 4th down conversion and subsequent loss to the Tennessee Titans, and they’re going to be out for blood. On a good day, Miami doesn’t stand much of a chance against the juggernaut Bills, but this one won’t be close with two weeks to prepare for the 1-6 Dolphins.

Don’t look now, but Carson Wentz is having a great year, and the Colts are coming. Indy has outscored opponents 61-21 in the last two weeks, including an impressive win in the rain in San Francisco. Yes, the Titans look great themselves and just dismantled the Chiefs after beating Buffalo the week before. But after two huge wins in a row, they’re due for a letdown in the form of the divisional rival Indianapolis Colts.

The Bengals are for real and keep getting better every week. The chemistry between Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase is scary and will haunt the Jets all afternoon on Halloween Sunday. It wouldn’t have mattered anyway, but the Jets will be without starting QB Zach Wilson.

Bills, Dolphins Over 48, Steelers +3.5, Lions +3

The Bills are the highest-scoring team in the AFC, while the Dolphins have given up the most points in AFC. Translation: Bills are going to light up the scoreboard. If the Dolphins can put up any points at all, this one should go over with ease.

The Steelers head to Cleveland to face a beat-up Browns team. This should be a low-scoring divisional matchup, and I don’t see either team winning by more than a field goal. The 3.5 spread is a little too high for my liking.

The lowly Lions have been flirting with victory all season long, and I think this is the week it finally happens. Unfortunately, the Eagles have looked rough lately, and to make matters worse, it seems like they might be without running back Miles Sanders for this one.

Patriots +5.5, Cowboys -2, Giants +10

The Patriots at +5.5 against the Chargers is confusing, considering the Pats have the third-best point differential in the AFC at +39, while the Chargers sit at -2. I’m not saying New England will win, but I don’t see them losing by more than five.

The Cowboys have looked like a powerhouse on both sides of the ball this year, and it’s a good idea to keep betting them until they prove otherwise. So while this does feel like a bit of a trap game in Minnesota, I’m going to ride the Cowboy’s hot streak.

The Giants are by no means a good team, but neither are the Chiefs right now. The Chiefs have no business being 10-point favorites in this one. Mahomes is not looking like himself lately and has been a turnover machine. In my opinion, Kansas City is entirely out of sorts and will be lucky if they win this game at all.
