Mike Evans may be the key to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beating the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. Evans will probably spend most of the game lined up across from Rams’ star cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Tampa Bay is favored in this game by three points according to the NFL betting lines from BetMGM.
Evans has 14 TDs this year, and he’ll look to add to that total on Sunday. Will Evans get free of Ramsey for a couple of scores, or will the Rams DB lock him up all game? Check out the article below.

The Buccaneers Wide Receivers Corp is Depleted
The Buccaneers are depleted at the wide receiver position, losing WR Chris Godwin and WR Antonio Brown. Evans had a solid start to the playoffs, torching the Philadelphia Eagles for 117 yards and a touchdown on nine catches.
With the Buccaneers depleted on offense, it would be wise for the Rams to do everything they can to take Tampa Bay’s top weapon out of the game. I would imagine that Evans will receive extra attention, which could open up TE Rob Gronkowski and WR Tyler Johnson.
Red Zone Success
Tom Brady targeted Mike Evans 18 times in the red zone this season. Chris Godwin saw seven more targets, but Evans should see more balls come his way since Godwin is injured.
Evans turned half of those targets into touchdowns and has reached the endzone 14 times this season, which is second in the NFL.
Jalen Ramsey Will Look To Shut Down Mike Evans
Although Tampa Bay lost to the Rams earlier this season, Evans had an excellent game, securing eight receptions for 106 yards. However, Evans failed to score a touchdown in that contest.
This week, Evans won’t have an easier time against the Rams, considering how many offensive weapons are out for the Bucs.
Considering how comfortable QB Tom Brady is targeting Gronkowski and the extra attention Evans will undoubtedly receive from Ramsey and the Rams, a touchdown might be a tall order.
That said, Brady is one of the best quarterbacks ever to play the game, and the Bucs’ passing offense averages the most yards per game in the league (304). While the Rams will focus on Evans, I’m not sure they can stop him.
Analyzing Mike Evans Chances To Score a Touchdown
Mike Evans has played in 17 games this season, and he’s caught at least one touchdown in ten of those games. However, I’m not too fond of his odds of scoring over one touchdown, as the Bucs receiver has only scored multiple TDs in four games this year.
Betting on Evans to get one touchdown seems like a smart bet, but anything over that is hazardous.
