UFC 324: Gaethje vs. Pimblett: Prediction
My prediction is a TKO/KO finish for Gaethje over Pimblett, as he’s the better striker and packs more power in his punches and kicks. Although I think Pimblett’s grappling is better than Gaethje’s, I think that he’ll still be able to keep the fight on the feet.
At 37, Gaethje’s speed and explosiveness might be the same as they were three or four years ago, but his power remains. With Pimblett’s awkward striking style, I see “The Highlight” catching the former two-division Cage Warriors champion with a solid punch or kick that will stun him.
Additionally, I think this fight is a massive step up for Pimblett, and Gaethje’s experience level is far superior to his. Gaethje has fought several of the top contenders in the lightweight division, while Pimblett’s biggest wins were against aging contenders Tony Ferguson and Michael Chandler.
Justin Gaethje’s Recent Fight Results
Gaethje was a two-time title challenger, former interim titleholder, and former BMF champion. In his last five fights, he recorded three wins and two losses. His victories were against Rafael Fiziev (twice) and Dustin Poirier, while his losses were from Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway.
Paddy Pimblett’s Recent Fight Results
Pimblett was a former two-division Cage Warriors champion. He made his UFC debut in September 2021 and remained undefeated in seven bouts. His past five victories were over Jordan Leavitt, Jared Gordon, Ferguson, King Green, and Chandler.
