The lightweight clash between ranked UFC contenders Dan Hooker and Benoit Saint Denis will be the co-main event of the UFC 325 card on Jan. 31 inside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

With his current three-fight win streak, Saint Denis is going to be the considerable favorite heading into the match with -350 UFC odds. Hooker, on the other hand, who’s coming off a loss in his previous match, will be the +275 betting underdog.

UFC 325: Dan Hooker vs. Benoit Saint Denis: Prediction

Given his superior grappling and submission skills, I predict Saint Denis will win via submission against Hooker. A grappling-heavy fight plan is expected from Saint Denis because of the toughness and grit of Hooker.

Hooker has been submitted twice in his last three losses, which is why I think Saint Denis will employ the same blueprint. After all, the French MMA superstar’s two of his last three victories were via submissions.

Although I think Saint Denis’ striking game has improved tremendously throughout the years and packs incredible power in his punches, as was witnessed during his 16-second knockout win over Beneil Dariush, his jiu-jitsu skills remain his best weapon against Hooker.

Dan Hooker’s Recent Fight Results

Hooker has been with the UFC since 2014. In his last five fights, he scored three wins against Claudio Puelles, Jalin Turner, and Mateusz Gamrot. He dropped the other two bouts to Arnold Allen and Arman Tsarukyan.

Benoit Saint Denis’ Recent Fight Results

Saint Denis is currently on a three-fight win streak, having defeated Kyle Prepolec, Mauricio Ruffy, and Dariush. Before this streak, he absorbed back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano.
