UFC 331: Casey O’Neill vs. Eduarda Moura: Prediction

My prediction is a decision win for O’Neill, as she has better striking and decent takedown defense. It’s a classic battle between a striker and a grappler, but I think O’Neill’s takedown defense will hold up against Moura’s grappling threat.

Though Moura will likely get a few takedowns, O’Neill should survive Moura’s ground-and-pound and submission attempts. Once on the feet, O’Neill will terrorize Moura with her crisp combinations thanks to her kickboxing background.

The volume and pace of O’Neill’s strikes should overwhelm Moura, but it could also lead to takedown opportunities. O’Neill should be careful not to overthrow because Moura can time a perfect level change.

Casey O’Neill’s Recent Fight Results

O’Neill was the former Eternal MMA titleholder before the UFC signed her in 2021. In her last five fights, she recorded three wins and two losses with victories over Roxanne Modafferi, Luana Santos, and Gabriella Fernandes, and losses to Jennifer Maia and Ariane Lipski da Silva.

Eduarda Moura’s Recent Fight Results

Moura was an undefeated prospect when she joined Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023 and earned herself a contract. She competed in five bouts inside the octagon, scoring wins over Montserrat Conejo Ruiz, Veronica Hardy, and Lauren Murphy, but lost to Denise Gomes and Wang Cong.
