Middleweight contenders Edmen Shahbazyan and Brunno Ferreira will look to break their respective skids as they collide in a thrilling matchup on Saturday at UFC 331 inside Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

As the younger fighter, Shahbazyan enters the match as the slight betting favorite with -175 UFC odds, while Ferreira, who’s on a two-fight losing streak, is going to be the +145 betting underdog.

UFC 331: Edmen Shahbazyan vs. Brunno Ferreira: Prediction

My prediction is a decision win for Shahbazyan over Ferreira because he’s the better overall striker. His advantages in physicality will help him land more cleaner and powerful punches and kicks because Ferreira is a grappling-heavy machine.

Shahbazyan has also improved his takedown defense as seen during his most recent outing against Brendan Allen, where he stopped three out of the four takedown attempts of Ferreira but was just outworked on the feet.

If Ferreira fails to take the fight on the ground, he’s likely to receive a ton of crisp combinations, especially kicks to his lead leg. Additionally, Shahbazyan can throw stiff jabs against the Brazilian and pop his head back when it lands.

Edmen Shahbazyan’s Recent Fight Results

Shahbazyan is a UFC veteran who made his promotional debut in 2018. He racked up three wins (Andre Muniz, Andre Petroski, and Dylan Budka) and two losses (Gerald Meerschaert and Allen) in his last five fights.

Brunno Ferreira’s Recent Fight Results

Ferreira was a product of Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2022 when he defeated Leon Aliu to secure a UFC contract. In his last five fights, he beat Armen Petrosyan, Jackson McVey, and Marvin Vettori, but lost to Gregory Rodrigues and Ikram Aliskerov.
