UFC Abu Dhabi: Islam Dulatov vs. Wellington Turman: Prediction

With his knockout power and forward pressure early into fights, I predict a TKO/KO victory for Dulatov over Turman. Even though Turman is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who can easily take the fight down to the mat, I believe Dulatov will still catch him with a clean strike.

Dulatov likes to control the center of the octagon early because he knows that it’ll only take one punch or kick for him to end a fight. Also, this allows him to telegraph his opponents’ takedown attempts and gives him more space to operate in his takedown defense.

The speed and high output of Dulatov should be enough to overwhelm Turman, thanks to his solid boxing background. And even though Turman secures a takedown, Dulatov’s submission defense and explosiveness will help him get back up and keep the fight on the feet.

Islam Dulatov’s Recent Fight Results

Dulatov was a product of Dana White’s Contender Series in October 2024, where he stopped Vanilto Antunes in the opening round to secure a UFC contract. He made his octagon debut at UFC 318 and scored another first-round stoppage against Adam Fugitt.

Wellington Turman’s Recent Fight Results

Turman is a highly-touted prospect who was signed by the UFC in 2019. However, he has only won two fights in his last five fights, with wins over Sam Alvey and Misha Cirkunov. Turman dropped the other three bouts to Andre Petroski, Randy Brown, and Jared Gooden.
