UFC Abu Dhabi: Ismael Bonfim vs. Axel Sola: Prediction
I predict a TKO/KO win for Sola over Bonfim, as he’s the more diverse striker with his Karate background. Bonfim relies heavily on his boxing and power punches, but Sola can nullify them with kicks and knee strikes.
With the longer reach of Sola, I see him spamming Bonfim with jabs down the middle because his chin is a very good target due to his wide stance. Also, Sola can time a leg kick counter or a knee strike to Bonfim’s body once he closes the distance.
The difference in fighting stance is also beneficial to Sola because he can easily fire power kicks through his back leg straight to the body or head of Bonfim. Additionally, the durability of Bonfim has been in question due to his current two-fight losing skid, where he absorbed stoppage losses.
Ismael Bonfim’s Recent Fight Results
Bonfim’s route to the UFC was via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2022. Since then, he competed in five UFC fights, winning two (Terrance McKinney and Vinc Pichel) and dropping the other three (Benoit Saint Denis, Nazim Sadykhov, and Chris Padilla).
Axel Sola’s Recent Fight Results
Sola was the former Ares FC champion before the UFC signed him last year. He has split his first two fights inside the octagon with a win over Rhys McKee in his debut and a defeat to Mason Jones in March at UFC London.
