An exciting lightweight battle will be witnessed at UFC Freedom 250, as ranked contenders Mauricio Ruffy and Michael Chandler throw hands Sunday at the White House.
Due to his three-fight losing streak, Chandler is going to be the overwhelming betting underdog with +500 UFC odds, while Ruffy, who has only lost one fight in the promotion, will be the heavy betting favorite with -700 odds.

UFC Freedom 250: Mauricio Ruffy vs. Michael Chandler: Prediction
I predict a TKO/KO win for Ruffy because not only is he the taller, longer fighter, but he’s also the better overall striker. Ruffy likes to use his wide karate stance as his main weapon for inflicting damage and countering attacks.
Chandler may have the wrestling background and could have the advantage in this stylistic matchup because his wrestling should nullify Ruffy’s striking. But knowing Chandler, he always goes for excitement over sticking to a fight plan.
This has been the problem with Chandler throughout his UFC tenure: He wants to prove he’s an exciting fighter rather than a technical operator. Ruffy should be able to touch him and find his chin in one of the exchanges.
Mauricio Ruffy’s Recent Fight Results
Ruffy’s path to the UFC was via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023. Since his octagon debut in 2024, he has racked up four wins (Jamie Mullarkey, James Llontop, King Green, and Rafael Fiziev) and one loss (Benoit Saint Denis).
Michael Chandler’s Recent Fight Results
Chandler was a former Bellator champion when he was signed by the UFC in 2021. However, he has only won one fight in his last five outings. His win was against Tony Ferguson, while his losses were from Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, Charles Oliveira, and Paddy Pimblett.
