A submission finish for Del Valle over Leavitt is my prediction, as he’s the better grappler and stronger athlete. Del Valle thrives when he gets on top of his opponents because he overpowers them with his brute strength.
Del Valle weaponizes his grappling by timing a great takedown or by catching a kick from his opponent. His wrestling background allows him to dominate his opponents on the mat with both the ground-and-pound and various submission techniques.
Leavitt is also a solid grappler, but I think Del Valle’s strength will overpower him in scrambles and clinch battles. Once Del Valle gets a hold of his opponents, he doesn’t let them go until he gets the desired finish.

Leavitt was a product of Dana White’s Contender Series in December 2020, where he stopped Jose Flores in just 22 seconds. He fought eight times inside the octagon since and scored wins against Matt Wiman, Matt Sayles, Trey Ogden, Victor Martinez, and Kurt Holobaugh, but lost to Claudio Puelles, Paddy Pimblett, and Chase Hooper.

Del Valle’s route to the UFC was also through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024, where he unanimously beat Antonio Monteiro to secure a UFC contract. In his first two bouts inside the octagon, he both submitted Connot Matthews and Isaac Dulgarian to remain undefeated in his pro career.
