Newly signed UFC welterweight contender Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani will test his mettle against veteran contender Phil Rowe on Feb. 21, as they collide at the UFC Houston card inside the Toyota Center.
As the younger fighter with a better professional record, Lebosnoyani heads into the bout as the betting favorite with -210 UFC odds. Rowe, on the other hand, is going to be the +170 betting underdog, primarily because he dropped his most recent fight.

UFC Houston: Phil Rowe vs. Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani: Prediction
Due to the grappling-heavy fighting style of Lebosnoyani, I predict he’ll be able to get the unanimous decision win over Rowe. Lebosnoyani also has decent striking skills that can match with Rowe if he decides to throw down with him.
Rowe had problems with opponents with a grappling background because he got easily taken down. His tall, lanky frame adds to this factor; however, he can’t fully utilize it in fights because he’s always looking for a highlight-reel finish.
Despite the Brazilian jiu-jitsu belt of Lebosnoyani, I think Rowe will still manage to go the distance and survive several submission attempts until the final bell because he’ll use every ounce of his octagon experience.
Phil Rowe’s Recent Fight Results
Rowe’s route to the UFC was via Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019. Since his octagon debut in 2021, he recorded four wins (Orion Cosce, Jason Witt, Niko Price, and Ange Loosa) and four losses (Gabe Green, Neil Magny, Jake Matthews, and Seokhyeon Ko).
Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani’s Recent Fight Results
Lebosnoyani was the former Lights Out Xtreme Fighting champion before he joined Dana White’s Contender Series in September. He was awarded a UFC contract after an impressive first-round finish of Jack Congdon in the competition.
