UFC Houston: Zach Reese vs. Michel Pereira: Prediction

My prediction is a unanimous decision win for Reese over Pereira, since he’s the better grappler. With the one-strike knockout power of Pereira, I think Reese will employ a grappling-heavy fight plan to neutralize it.

Although Pereira is currently on a three-fight losing streak, he still possesses that incredible power. Also, he is unpredictable and has a very unique fighting style. With this in mind, I believe that Reese would want to hold him down on the mat, inflict damage via ground-and-pound strikes, and score points on the judges’ scorecards.

Zach Reese’s Recent Fight Results

Reese was an undefeated fighter when he joined Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023. He submitted Eli Aronov in the opening round to secure a UFC contract. He recorded four wins (over Julian Marquez, Jose Daniel Medina, Dusko Todorovic, and Jackson McVey), two losses (to Cody Brundage and Azamat Bekoev), and one no-contest (with Sedriques Dumas) inside the octagon since.

Michel Pereira’s Recent Fight Results

Pereira was already an experienced fighter when the UFC signed him in 2019. In his past five fights, he only scored two wins against Michal Oleksiejczuk and Ihor Potieria, but lost his last three to Anthony Hernandez, Abus Magomedov, and Kyle Daukus.
