UFC London: Mason Jones vs. Axel Sola: Prediction
A TKO/KO win for Jones over Sola is my prediction since he’s the faster and well-rounded fighter. Jones can nullify the punching power of Sola with takedowns and punish him with ground-and-pound, highlighted by his powerful elbow strikes.
Sola will move down to the lightweight division, and this weight cut will cost him some of his cardio and durability. He might also have to adjust to the division’s speed, as he’s used to fighting slower opposition in the 170-pound weight class.
The only advantage Sola will have is the punching power that can put Jones out cold if he lands a clean strike. But Jones has shown incredible heart and chin against Bolaji Oki from his previous fight, and I think he’ll be able to survive the Frenchman’s best punches.

Jones was the former Cage Warriors titleholder before the UFC first signed him in 2021. In his first stint in the promotion, he only recorded one win in four bouts. He was released in 2022 and returned to CW, where he strung up four straight wins. Then, the UFC re-signed him last year. Jones has won his first two fights back in the UFC against Jeremy Stephens and Oki.
