UFC London: Shem Rock vs. Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady: Prediction

I predict a unanimous decision win for Al-Selwady over Rock due to his technical and precise striking attack. Al-Selwady pairs this with fantastic footwork and speed, allowing him to land cleaner, more solid punches.

Both are top-notch grapplers, which is why I think they’ll cancel each other out in this category and make this a more stand-up affair. The biggest problem with Rock is that he’s fighting with his hands low, and that makes him vulnerable to quick and explosive attacks.

That’s where Al-Selwady shines, in throwing explosive punches while staying disciplined in defense and keeping himself safe from any counters. With speed and movement differences, Rock will be on the receiving end of combinations from Al-Selwady.

Shem Rock’s Recent Fight Results

Rock was a former Full Contact Contender and Clan Wars titleholder before the UFC signed him last year. He fought Nurullo Aliev in November at UFC Qatar, but suffered a unanimous decision defeat.

Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady’s Recent Fight Results

Al-Selwady was a former Brave CF and Fury Fighting Championship champion when he joined Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2023. He scored a unanimous decision win over George Hardwick to secure a UFC contract. However, in his octagon debut, he absorbed a third-round stoppage loss to Loik Radzhabov in March 2024.
