Ranked flyweight contender Alex Perez is looking to defend his place in the division, as he welcomes the challenge from Sumudaerji at UFC Macau on Saturday inside the Galaxy Arena.

Despite his three-fight win streak, Sumudaerji heads into the match as the betting underdog with +120 UFC odds, while Perez, who’s fresh off a bounce-back victory, is going to be the betting favorite with -145 odds.

UFC Macau: Alex Perez vs. Sumudaerji: Prediction

My prediction is a decision win for Sumudaerji over Perez, mainly because of his length. This length will allow Sumudaerji to keep Perez at a safe distance while inflicting damage using his signature kicks.

Sumudaerji has a handful of kicks, but his head kick is what I believe he would use mostly against Perez. Both are striking heavy fighters, and even if Perez decides to force a grappling or a clinch battle, Sumudaerji will be able to defend them confidently.

Perez is also an aggressive fighter who likes to move forward and press his opponents against the cage, but Sumudaerji’s distance management will be enough to maintain a comfortable space between them.

Alex Perez’s Recent Fight Results

Perez was a former UFC flyweight title challenger, but in his past five bouts, he has recorded only two wins, against Matheus Nicolau and Charles Johnson. His other three fights were losses to Muhammad Mokaev, Tatsuro Taira, and Asu Almabayev.

Sumudaerji’s Recent Fight Results

Sumudaerji is a Chinese MMA star who was signed by the UFC in 2018. He racked up three wins (Mitch Raposo, Kevin Borjas, and Jesus Aguilar) and two losses (Tim Elliott and Johnson) in his last five appearances inside the octagon.
