The first bout on Saturday’s UFC Macau card will feature the women’s strawweight match between Loma Lookboonmee and Jaqueline Amorim, as they collide inside the Galaxy Arena.

Both fighters are coming off losses in their previous matches, but Amorim will be the betting favorite with -125 UFC odds, while Lookboonmee is going to be the betting underdog with +105 odds.

UFC Macau: Loma Lookboonmee vs. Jaqueline Amorim: Prediction

My prediction is a decision win for Amorim since she’s the better grappler and her fighting style fits perfectly against Lookboonmee. In this classic battle of a striker and a grappler, the grappler will have an advantage.

Amorim’s solid BJJ background will effectively counter the Muay Thai striking base of Lookboonmee. Furthermore, Amorim’s seven-inch reach and three-inch leg reach advantage will be crucial in keeping Lookboonmee at a safe distance.

Aside from keeping Lookboonmee at bay, Amorim will also be able to telegraph her attacks and anticipate them. This will allow her to come up with a swift counter or time a perfect level change to take the match down the mat.

Loma Lookboonmee’s Recent Fight Results

Lookboonmee is a UFC veteran who has been with the promotion since 2019. In her last five octagon appearances, she has recorded four wins (Denise Gomes, Elise Reed, Bruna Brasil, and Istela Nunes) and one loss (Alexia Thainara).

Jaqueline Amorim’s Recent Fight Results

Amorim was the LFA titleholder when the UFC signed her in 2023. Since then, she has competed in six bouts under the promotion, recording four wins against Montserrat Conejo Ruiz, Cory McKenna, Vanessa Demopoulos, and Polyana Viana, and dropping the other two to Sam Hughes and Mizuki.
