I predict a decision win for Vera over Zhu, as he’s the more well-rounded mixed martial artist who mixes up his offense with striking and grappling. I expect Vera to have a grappling-heavy approach against Zhu, as he’s a natural striker.
This fight plan will effectively nullify the threat of Zhu’s power and elite striking while also getting ahead on the judges’ scorecards and inflicting damage. Vera’s best attack is on the clinch, where he uses his knee strikes to target the head and body of his opponents.
If he secures an early clinch battle, I think Vera will land several knee strikes to Zhu’s body and head, slowing him down throughout the fight. Vera also has the option to attack Zhu’s lead leg because he plants it heavily.
