Former UFC veterans Nate Diaz and Mike Perry will square off on Saturday in the main card of MVP Promotions’ first MMA event inside Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

Even though he won his last UFC fight in 2022, Diaz will be the betting underdog with +165 MMA odds. Meanwhile, Perry, who last competed inside the octagon in 2021, is going to be the -200 betting favorite.

Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry: Prediction

As the better grappler, I predict a submission win for Diaz over Perry. Diaz’s solid Brazilian jiu-jitsu background will counter Perry’s striking, even though he’s the more formidable stand-up fighter.

The toughness, durability, and proven granite chin of Diaz will also be catalysts in this match, as he’ll be able to survive the barrage of punches from “Platinum.” Additionally, Diaz has decent striking and has a fantastic one-two punch combination.

But I still believe Diaz will employ a grappling-heavy fight plan to minimize the danger of being caught with a solid strike from Perry and ultimately work his way into a submission technique to secure the victory.

Nate Diaz’s Recent Fight Results

Diaz was a former UFC veteran who made his pro MMA debut in 2004. In his last five appearances inside the octagon, he racked up two wins against Anthony Pettis and Tony Ferguson, while he lost to Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, and Leon Edwards.

Mike Perry’s Recent Fight Results

Perry was also a seasoned UFC contender before his last fight in 2021. However, he has only won one of his last five bouts, with a victory over Mickey Gall and defeats to Vicente Luque, Geoff Neal, Tim Means, and Daniel Rodriguez.
