Former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno returns to action at the Noche UFC card on Saturday, as he’s set to face Joseph Morales inside Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

Due to his two-fight losing streak, Moreno enters the match as the betting underdog with +100 UFC odds. Meanwhile, Morales, who’s on a six-fight win streak, will be the betting favorite with -120 odds.

Noche UFC: Brandon Moreno vs. Joseph Morales: Prediction

I predict a decision win for Moreno over Morales because he’s the more well-rounded fighter who can defend the takedowns and submission attempts of Morales. Moreno is also an elite striker, which I think is his biggest advantage.

Morales uses his striking primarily to set up his takedowns and level changes rather than inflict significant damage on his opponents. These tendencies are the ones Moreno is very good at, and he adjusts accordingly.

Even if Moreno’s explosiveness and speed aren’t the same as two or three years ago, he’s still a very high-skilled fighter and is still relatively at the tail end of his prime at 32. I think Moreno will win most of the striking battles and defend several of Morales’ takedown attempts.

Brandon Moreno’s Recent Fight Results

Moreno was the former two-time UFC flyweight champion. However, he has only won two of his last five matches. His wins were against Amir Albazi and Steve Erceg and his losses were courtesy of Brandon Royval, Tatsuro Taira, and Lone’er Kavanagh.

Joseph Morales’ Recent Fight Results

Morales has returned to the UFC after getting cut in 2018. He joined the Ultimate Fighter 33 and won the competition with a second-round submission win over Alibi Idiris. He then defeated Matt Schnell in November with a first-round submission finish.
