Two young featherweight prospects are scheduled to face each other at UFC OKC, with Austin Bashi and Jose Miguel Delgado set to trade strikes on Saturday inside the Paycom Center.

Even with a better pro record, Bashi is going to be the slight betting underdog with -105 UFC odds, while Delgado will be the slight betting favorite with -115 odds.

UFC OKC: Austin Bashi vs. Jose Miguel Delgado: Prediction

My prediction is a decision win for Bashi over Delgado, as he’s the better grappler. He’s expected to use his grappling skills against Delgado to avoid his power punches and grind out a win with submission attempts and ground-and-pound attacks.

It’s no secret that Bashi prefers fighting on the mat rather than on his feet because he wants to maximize his Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt credentials. Though he has underrated striking skills, I still think he’s better off opting into a grappling-heavy fight plan.

Bashi should double down on this department, especially since Delgado has incredible power in his punches and kicks. The young featherweight prospect, though, should be wary of Delgado’s sneaky submission skills and not underestimate his grappling game.

Austin Bashi’s Recent Fight Results

Bashi was the former Lights Out Championship titleholder before joining Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024, where he submitted Dorian Ramos. Since then, he has split his two bouts under the promotion, losing to Christian Rodriguez and winning over John Yannis.

Jose Miguel Delgado’s Recent Fight Results

Delgado was also a product of Dana White’s Contender Series in 2024. In four fights inside the octagon, he recorded three wins against Conor Matthews, Hyder Amil, and Andre Fili, but a loss to Nathaniel Wood.
