A battle of former UFC champions will headline the UFC OKC card on Saturday, as former UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis takes on the former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman inside the Paycom Center.
Even though he’s coming off a loss, Du Plessis still heads into the match as the betting favorite with -250 UFC odds, while Usman, who’s fresh off a bounce-back victory, is going to be the +200 betting underdog.

UFC OKC: Du Plessis vs. Usman: Prediction
I predict a TKO/KO win for Du Plessis over Usman, as he’s the faster and better overall striker. Even though Usman is the far superior grappler, I think Du Plessis will be able to stop the takedown attempts and has learned his lesson in the Khamzat Chimaev fight.
Du Plessis can throw a lot of calf kicks against Usman because he’s very heavy on his lead leg. This can slow Usman’s movement and potentially stop his takedown attempts since he won’t have the same explosiveness once his legs receive significant damage.
Also, Du Plessis has one-punch knockout power and is a natural middleweight. For this reason, I’m unsure whether Usman can handle Du Plessis’ punching power, since his middleweight fight with Chimaev almost three years ago was grappling-heavy.

Du Plessis was the former UFC middleweight king who made his octagon debut in 2020. He recorded four wins and one loss in his last five bouts. His victories were against Robert Whittaker, Sean Strickland (twice), and Israel Adesanya, while his lone defeat was to Chimaev.
Kamaru Usman’s Next Fight?
Usman was the former long-time UFC welterweight titleholder. However, he has only racked up two wins in his last five fights, with victories against Colby Covington and Joaquin Buckley. On the other hand, his defeats were courtesy of Leon Edwards (twice) and Chimaev.
